Friends and Family,

As the father of four small children, a resident of Santa Barbara and an ex NHL hockey player, it is hard for me to believe that a hometown this wonderful is lacking an ice skating facility. There are so many positive things a rink will bring to this community. It will provide a venue where kids learn about work ethic, teamwork and sportsmanship or just have fun at a birthday party. Teenagers can congregate there on a Friday night instead of hanging around on street corners. People of all ages can simply experience the pure joy of gliding on a sheet of ice.  I can say these things with certainty because of my own experiences on the rinks in the small Massachusetts town where I grew up. I joined the board of Ice in Paradise with the hope that my children and the youth of this area will have the opportunity to gain the benefits an ice skating facility provides.

 

We have a great group of people involved in this project. They have the determination and expertise to make this rink a reality. Progress has been made and continues. Capital has been raised but there needs to be more. This community will get a wonderful addition when you and others help us reach our fundraising goals.
